THE BEGINNING

Human involvement remains as an interesting history in humanity. In the latest year of 2022, there are a bunch of positive developments and challenges such as COVID’s acute stage. Lately, scientists have found a mysterious activity executed by the S.H.I.E.L.D HQ’s. When the investigation was launched, the investigators stated that the S.H.I.E.L.D HQ could not be found. This leads to a conclusion: something went wrong because their presence could not be detected.
—
(Traveled to 1983)
“Sir, the time drive is malfunctioning,” said someone from the control room.
“How do we get out, then?!” said Deke, panicking.
“We can’t, sir. We are stuck in 1983.”
—
All is well,
Until it isn’t.
THE BREAKING

A silence emerged. Agents are well-trained for a lot of things but time traveling is surely not one of them. A spice of surprise was added for this occasion. They are fairly young and they only have heard of the past from the history books. Living in it, on the other side, is a whole different thing.
In 1983, HQ’s building was nowhere near to grand. The American extra-governmental counter-terrorism and intelligence agency just arose by then and enemies were scattered in every part of the world. At this rate, even the word danger is a simplification.
“Let me see what I can do,” Agent Coraline squinted her eyes as she tried to understand the system of the thick, square-shaped computer that was in front of her. The sudden time travel might have taken their usual surroundings, but not her specialty.
It did not take her long to finally understand how the system worked in this period of time. She surfed all over the existing files, hoping that something could be of use. Just anything that could help them travel back in time.
However, what they thought was a nightmare had turned into something worse as Agent Coraline found something dangerous in the system. The firewall indicated that their classified files were accessed by another party, under the alias of CG.
Chuckling in nervousness, Agent Zachary then uttered something that put Deke’s Squad under another level of danger. “It can’t be Chronicoms.. can it?”
“But what does the G stand for?” Agent Julian asked, perplexed.
“It seems to be Gideon Malick. A powerful businessman and political figure but most of all, one the leaders of HYDRA. We need to investigate further about this,” said Agent Jack, who happened to be one of the best overseers in the group.
“Crap, we need to come up with a plan asap,” Agent Quinn mouthed in frustration as their problems kept on piling up, before the whole team eventually scooted closer and started to brainstorm for their operation.
THE PLANNING

Abundant plans scribbled on top of a notebook. Most were written out of panic. Unbeta-ed plans. Just some panic arrangements envelopes. Most if not all, it was a combat fight plan.
Agent Joel, when his mind was bizarrely filled with ideas, he generated a nicely aligned plan. “No, listen.” he rubbed his chin in wonder. If they could just make a pact, talk from ear to ear, and minimize the amount of hostages—that would be amazing.
Jordan and Julian were arguing on how to approach the Omnivore; Julian was always proud of his delicacy in words, all while Jordan preferred the quickest way to get rid of the problem. These two young men have been bickering for the past twenty minutes until Joel broke in "What if I seduce him?" He said, turning heads to his direction followed by a snort from Julian "You, seducing him?"
Joel nodded.
Julian was caught exchanging looks with Jordan, they both bursted out into a laugh.
"Hey, I'm serious!" Joel rose from his seat, crossing his arms across his chest.
Julian and Jordan laughed even harder. "No." They said in unity.
“Perhaps, we can seduce those Chronicoms. Without having to shed blood,” he mumbled. Tried to find hundreds of possibilities of conversing with the foe. “It isn't worth the sacrifices, talk about Chronicoms. They are.. simply many.”
“And what if they refuse?“ a voice echoed.
“Then we will execute Plan B, ladies and gentlemen.”
Ah, finally, something they could agree on.
THE SEDUCING

God, everyone was furious. Agent Joel was prominent with his perfect way of handling the enemies physically, but mentally he was an idiot. His Art of Seduction was a total mess.
“My appeal is high enough to seduce them, I’ll ask if they’re gay or not.”
“Dude, that’s not how it works!” Agent Coraline almost screamed amidst the chaos. “Damn, listen Joel. You can’t seduce them like a mere human! You can’t sit on their lap and go!”
“Silence! I know what I’m doing.” Joel grumbled. “Connect me to Gideon Malick, Agent Caroline. It must be connected unless he’s dead. I want to have a word with him.”
Agent Coraline could not refuse, since no one could come with a better plan—other than a blood bath, obviously. She cracked her fingers above her gadget, understanding her assignment once Joel told her so. It felt like a gamble. The Chronicom could refuse it blatantly while declaring a war, or both parties could cool their heads off and talk.
And everything would be on Joel’s hand, before he hands the matter to the other agents. Of course, with Deke’s grand permission.
“This is Agent Joel speaking from the S.H.I.E.L.D’s headquarters,” he coughed, “We would love to have a word with Gideon Malick in order to generate a treaty pact. Written or not, that’s on you.”
Bzz, bzz.
The radio phone buzzed. Joel hoped that they would direct it to Gideon Malick for a more direct conversation. Yet, there was an unsettling feeling wrapping his mind a little too tight. It felt like there was no Gideon Malick at all.
“We’re refusing any kind of pact you offered to us, Agent S.H.I.E.L.D! Someone under your coordination killed Gideon Malick and we will make a refuge before we charge,” said someone from the radio line.
Wait.
“You mean Catt killed Gideon?” Joel asked, closing the radio phone so the Chronicoms won’t peek nor hear a thing. “I thought she went out to find Gideon’s whereabouts, not killing him.”
THE FIGHTING: I

Agent Cattherine was not the strongest soldier, but she knew she had this ability that would help the team a lot. Quinn was kidnapped by Nathaniel Malick, and this bothered her. She knew the team was still making a plan to rescue her best friend, but she also knew what Gideon was capable of doing.
Worrying, she tried to locate HYDRA headquarters with the help of Coraline’s hacking skill, before eventually sneaking out of their base.
She felt bad because she didn't tell her boyfriend, Jonathan, about her sudden suicide mission.
But he can wait—or so she thought.
Location: HYDRA’s Headquarter.
She easily took down the HYDRA guards outside and inside the building, she barely used her inhuman ability, she only used her Beretta M9. She then looked for the containment cell where they might keep Quinn as hostage.
She kept opening the doors to every room she encountered. Her searching stopped once she reached a room with many containment cells inside, and she spotted the one with Quinn in it. Her mind was filled with many questions on how to open this capsule, and Quinn seemed to lose her consciousness.
Time was ticking.
—
“Do you want to save her?”
She turned her body around to face the man who asked her. It was Nathaniel Malick. The man she never expected to meet that day.
She then remembered what Deke said yesterday, that this man had Agent Daisy’s inhuman ability. In a matter of seconds, she made calculations in her mind on how quickly she could reach her handgun and shoot him on his shoulder.
She didn’t plan to kill him, yet before she could reach her gun, the man threw his punch on the ground, throwing her body far back, making it harder for her to get up. Her eyes immediately found their way back to check on Quinn’s condition.
She detected Quinn’s subtle movements.
“Quinn, are you alright?”
Just before Quinn could answer, Catt noticed the glass door on the containment cell cracked. Nathaniel was also aware of the situation and he knew Catt came for the girl. In just a few seconds, Nathaniel prepared for his second punch on the ground, but this time he targeted Quinn.
Catt quickly got up and ran to Quinn’s direction. Immediately, she shaped a shield―a dome-like shield to protect her and Quinn from the incoming force the man created. Quinn completely got her consciousness back and the first thing she did after was to stand on her two legs, kicking the glass door, and it shattered to the floor.
Quinn then managed to escape from the containment cell and she finally reunited with Cattherine. One problem down, another to go. The girls knew they still needed to fight Nathaniel.
—
A loud noise was heard from the other side, indicating Nathaniel’s grand entrance. The moment they got a clear sight of him, wrath was written all over his face. “Quinn, watch out!” Cattherine shouted, realising that the man came after her fellow agent first.
Quickly, Quinn dodged the first attack coming from Nathaniel rather swiftly, and punched him in the stomach. Cattherine then took lead over the fight and it went as long as she could remember.
Loud bangs were heard every now and then, and the agents were starting to lose their strength.
—
Luckily, Catherine was made for the battlefield. On the brink of the long fight, she took a turn of events by gathering all the strength she had left and put her flyrogenesis ability again to use―throwing Nathaniel far against the hard wall.
Their enemy blacked out and Quinn took Cattherine by the hand.
“I know where the Chronicorms are.”
THE FIGHTING: II

Quinn and Cattherine quickly returned to the home base, panting for the long track they escaped. Leaving any belongings behind for a greater cost. They should inform the agents to prepare for a big battle—after all, they’re the Chronicoms. And Nathaniel must be taken down.
Yes. Nathaniel wasn’t that lanky lad who died for only a mere knock down. Of course, Quinn and Cattherine were chased by the back ups. Two versus many, lost a chance. It would be no use to force themselves to capture Nathaniel alive. They should return, as soon as possible.
When they saw a glimpse of the agents, they ran quickly before the Chronicoms left the battlefield with Nathaniel.
“Agents! We located the Chronicoms!” Cattherine shouted. “Hurry, we must capture them!” and Quinn added the panic. No need for details for Quinn and Cattherine would lead the way to the enemy’s base. They prepared themselves for a deathly match, apparently not knowing each other’s fate as they charged to the Chronicoms’ lair.
The radio phone was discharged, even the props were abandoned. It was only a matter of time.
It didn’t take long for them to besiege the Chronicoms along with their controller. One who stood in the front line were those who got into close-quarters combat. While the marksman stood behind, hidden after the bricks. “Aim for Nathaniel’s head first! The others may follow.”
The fight was led by Agent Grace. The closest shall engage with the battle as well as taking down their front liners. “Cattherine, stay here!” Agent Quinn took her hand—she almost went to the enemy headquarters again. And alone. And she wouldn’t let her. “Let the others handle Nathaniel, fire from here. Look!” Quinn guided Cattherine’s sight to Joel running to the headquarters. Protected by the other agents.
“Long-ranged combaters stay long-ranged, copy? You’ve done anything you could do. Let the rest handle it.” Agent Jack came from behind, stabbing two Chronicoms dead-on for coming too close to Quinn and Cattherine’s direction. “Make way for Joel!”
Just as Agent Jack stood up after unsheathed his blades, he got shot in the head. Causing the blood to sputter to Quinn and Cattherine’s armor plates. They gasped in unison, trying to cover Jack’s head before it went fatal—yet it was too late.
“Hold on everyone, it’s going to get nasty..” Agent Quinn muttered under her breath. “Careful of shooting your own confidants. They’re stealing human’s faces. Take care after your friends, not foes!”
The dead ones were sprawled, mixed up with the extremely advanced synthetics. Agent Darlene threw a grenade, exposing the enemies’ whereabouts while destroying their Chroni-Riffles to pieces for the sight was broadened. Easy peasy, Jordan thought. He shot several inhuman bodies, capturing them without exception.
“How foolish, no plans. What Plan B is it even?” Julian uttered his mind to Jordan. “Now Agent Emily is nowhere to be seen, how are we supposed to protect Joel from bullets? Is she dead?”
“Yeah, southward. She’s gone. And no time for Plan B! Let’s just trust Jayden and Joel at this moment. They prepared a good plan. At least.” Jordan reloaded his bullets. “Now, we’re just gonna do what we can do.”
—
(At the other place)
Joel got the chance to confront Nathaniel face to face, at last. His feet stung for running too fast, eyes were almost blurry for losing so much blood. He got shot at the arm, though it didn’t hurt when the adrenaline rushed in. Amidst the smoke—he cornered Nathaniel in an open place, where all of his guards were taken down, and where anyone can pull the trigger any time.
“You’re dead.. so dead.” Joel unsheathed his blades, “Look at how many comrades of mine you killed. This must be stopped Nathaniel.”
Joel rushed to Nathaniel, swinging his blade with an unthinkable speed. Scratched the man, wound deep. Lowering his head to dodge the retaliations from Nathaniel, before thrusting his blade forward.
They were as fast as Usain Bolt, the sound of a slight scrape when the blades were drawn and a little distinct metal on the side. Until Joel found Nathaniel’s blank spot—giving Agent Jayden a sight with a slight cue to pull the trigger.
“Joel!” Agent Jonathan screamed, he couldn’t cover Joel from such distance. If they were in a movie, then probably they’d take slow motion frames for this scene. Accompanied with an eerie tune. The bullet pierced Joel’s most vital organ, perfectly after Joel snapped his fingers.
That, gave Jayden the bravery to pull the trigger and shoot Nathaniel’s head until his brain was scattered on the battleground.
THE ENDING
Romance was dead, they returned home.
